We started out Friday morning and drove about 45minutes and stopped for breakfast in Corydon at DQ...lol, I know we didn't get very far at first but we were hungry :) We were blessed with the company of Diane Gutterman and her 3 grandchildren. She happened to live in CA before moving to Lanesville IN and she told us all about the great sites along 1-40w. Not really, she said there wasn't much to see and she was right. I am sure though, off from some of the exits and a few more miles away we could have found something, but we didn't want to go no more out of our way then we had to. So Friday there was nothing, Saturday there was nothing, and Sunday I was kinda bummed because it was our 1st church service we was going to be missing for awhile and we still hadn't seen anything interesting.
Then Sunday morning when we arrived in TX God blessed us with this site to see right off the expressway. It is called the Worlds largest Cross Ministry...it was definitely a sight to see and a wonderful blessing. You can see this cross for miles and miles. I believe they have a website you can check out to read more about it. Sunday we put a lot of miles behind us, we drove longer that day than any other day, we were so ready to be there and plus we had to keep driving and driving before we came to an exit with a hotel...lol
Before we left home, Indiana, we were given a dog named Jake, his owners said he wanted to be a missionary as well. They said he had a lot of love to share with the children at NCF. He is a great traveling dog but he didn't like to be left alone in the hotels. Jake is crate trained so we put him in his crate the first evening we went to eat supper and on our way back down the hall way to our room we here Jake barking and crying so from then on we had to leave him in the moving truck, which he really liked it better. I guess that became his safe place while on the road. :)
During our 1st week here we have worked really hard at getting everything unpacked and set up in our new "temporary" home, I have to use the word temporary in front of home and church or people from back home get upset :) By Friday we had pretty much everything done except for the home office that I still have papers to go through and organize. We also have to set up the guest room but other than that we are done. I will have those couple of things done before the end of this week.
Saturday Madeline, she is the lady who is over seeing the children's home, came over with her 2 sons and a young girl named Sonja who is staying at the home until it is safe for her to return to her own home and we played UNO and Corn Hole together and then we invited them to stay for dinner. It was a fun relaxing day after all we had been through the last week. Also, Saturday I was given my own office in the Admin bldg and was asked to take over the finances of NCF. What a blessing it is to serve in that way. I am a little nervous but I know God has my back!
Sunday we attended services at the First Nazarene Church of Dilkon. We were welcomed with smiles, hand shakes, and kind words. We were even mentioned in the sermon :) Joey and I very much enjoyed the whole service and we definitely felt the presence of the Lord. After services we opened the Gym up for the adults and youth from the church and we all played volleyball and basketball for a few hours. We plan on doing that every Sunday afternoon. We have more ideas that I will share at a later time. I had planned this wonderful BIG country meal for dinner that included fried chicken, mashed potatoes, green beans, mac-n-cheese, and home made apple pie! It was Delicious!
So today has been the first day, I guess you can say "on the job" for Joey. He has been out on the property doing all kinds of maintenance work, he just came in a few minutes ago and shared with me that he was herding billy goats on our sons 4-wheeler and to make sure I tell everyone! :) I wish I would have gotten a picture of that to share! I myself have went for a walk, cleaned the house, fixed lunched, worked on a bible study with Madeline, and finally started this blog that I have been promising!
My only responsibilities at this time is the accounting, which will include going to the post office, bank, and being over at the office a couple times a week. Helping in the children's home when it becomes more full and when the gym gets fixed we will provided some kind of a ministry to the community. I also will start home schooling our son Joey Jr.
We want to thank everyone for all the send off's, the encouraging cards, the "I Love You's" the financial support, and gifts. We love you all and pray for Gods Blessing upon each one of you!!
Hey Brownings!

Hearding billy goats, that is too funny. You guys enjoy every second. It's not often we get to experience what you guys are doing! God bless and we miss you more than you Know. (Actually, you know pretty well, because I am sure you are missing us the same way.) Love you guys!
