I am amazed by how little time there seems to be in a day, especially when there are mission teams here. I have been slacking on the blog, because it has been a busy time. In my last blog it was up in the air as to whether or not Cari would be allowed to graduate with her class. I am pleased to inform you, she did!!!! She was very excited. Shortly after that she moved from the children’s home and in with her aunt. She has been to church since she has left and she is staying in touch. Please pray for both her and her family. Her sister went back to an abusive relationship and Cari is very upset about that.

The gym is still going strong! NCF has something going on there six out of seven days. We are still having good numbers. Friday night is Family Night and we are noticing some parents coming with their children. The kids that live behind us call and see what’s going on at the gym and this one mom got her daughter to call Angie and I to asked NCF staff to pray for their son, he just went through surgery. This family goes to a Native American church and are very traditional and Bo said the whole time NCF has existed they have never called for prayer. So that was just more confirmation that the work God is doing through us is starting to reach the people here.

As far as maintenance goes, Lil Joey and I stay busy, between the swamp coolers, batteries for the alarms, vehicles and general cleaning. I have made a weekly schedule that works out real well. We recently moved into the Children’s Home to be the full time foster parents and we are very excited about that. Two weeks ago we welcomed four into the home. They are a family of two boys and two girls ranging in age between two and eight. Please be in prayer for them and for us. Pray that we could be beacons of light for Jesus and because of that these little ones will grow to love and serve our Lord Jesus Christ.

First Capital Christian Church Mission Team
Like I said, it has been a busy time with the teams coming. June 19-25 First Capital Church of Corydon sent a mission team here. It was a very good week. We actually got to go out to Leupp to paint the Fire Station there. The chapter house was questioning the station about the group and they told them it was a mission team from Indiana and NCF brought them to fix up the fire station. The chapter house said they would buy the paint. We were also able to get a bus running. They told us four other people tried unsuccessfully to fix it, but I guess the fifth time was a charm. We are finishing up with our third work team in a row. We had Cobblestone, New Life and a United Methodist Church from Ohio on three consecutive weeks. I plan to blog a little more about those trips when I recover from the busy stretch. Please pray that the Lord allows time for me to write and keep you guys more informed about what is going on here.

We need prayer for our car. It will take more than $900 to get it running and the van we have been driving needs work as well. There is something wrong with the electrical. We don't want to be out with the children and breakdown somewhere. We aren't panicked, we know when God wants the vehicles fixed, he will provide a way. I remember Pete saying in a sermon once, “Someone asked me, how do you maintain such a strong faith?” and Pete said his reply was, “Because I have seen God come through time and time again!” We agree because we have seen and experienced the same thing from Him.

We still need more teams to come out. We increased the number from last summer this year and we hope to do that every summer as the funds raised from those teams will be used to benefit NCF in the slower winter months. We've been contacted about a team of 40 from New York that is interested in coming out this April. Pray that God continues to lay it on their hearts to be here. Things are happening!!

Tonight, we will host a free Christian Concert at the NCF gym. The featured artist will be MC Soldier and Corwyn Vega Sr. Our hope is to be able to sell concessions at that event. I ask for prayer for that event that through the music of these talented performers that more would come to accept Christ.

Please pray, pray, and pray. Pray for our vehicle situation, pray for the staff and grounds of NCF and pray for the Children's home daily. Oh and before I forget we have exciting news about the Hogan. Work has been done to turn it into a women’s shelter for victims of domestic violence. Please also pray for the Lord to bless that venture and guide our steps.

Much Love!!
